The face behind Gourmet Translations

Gourmet Translations is managed by Sarah Bessioud. After completing a language degree, Sarah went on to complete a Masters degree in International Hospitality Management at the Scottish Hotel School before commencing her career in the kitchens of Le Méridien London Gatwick. Since then, she has gained experience in a range of hotels and restaurants throughout the UK and France, and was responsible for marketing four historic hotels and their award-winning restaurants close to London.

A career break to bring up her two daughters and a relocation to Germany also coincided with a career change that allowed Sarah to unite her two great passions: food and languages.

About us

Who are we?

Gourmet Translations is headquartered near Bonn, in Germany, with a team of translators spread right across the globe. All of our team members have been carefully selected based on their background and experience gained within the food and beverage industry. The diverse strengths of our translators ensure that there is always a team member with the specialist knowledge to deal with your translation.

With translators located throughout the world, Gourmet Translations provide translations in British and American English, French and Canadian French, and German, Swiss and Austrian German. This international pool of translators also guarantees a flexible response to customer needs and allows us to offer ‘overnight’ translation services when deadlines are short.

Behind each of our translations is a person who is passionate about food, passionate about languages and passionate about quality.

Who are our customers?

Our customers are as diverse as the different assignments that we complete for them. To name but a few, our customers include independent hotels, bars and restaurants, bed and breakfasts, catering companies, international hotel and restaurant chains, event management companies, winemakers, distillers, food and beverage manufacturers, catering equipment suppliers. We also work for a number of publishing houses, translating recipe books and journalistic articles on food and travel.
